Summer Camp 2008

The Seguine Equestrian Center summer camp program is held on the grounds of the
historic Seguine-Burke House.  In this beautiful country setting on Staten Island, an
intensive horsemanship course and camp is offered for children ages 5-16.

Your child will have daily English riding instruction, and will learn all about horses and
horsemanship through lectures from our knowledgeable staff and have the hands on
experiences to applying the new material learned.  No previous riding experience is
needed, just a love for learning and horses.

Arts and crafts with an equine (horsey) theme, nature discussions, exhibits, as well
organized games and activities will round out your child's day.
We will be having one week camp sessions for 5 consecutive weeks starting on
Monday, July 7th.  Camp hours are from 9 a.m.  to 4 p.m.
What you need to know:

Lunch, Snacks & Drinks
Children are required to bring their lunch each day.  A couple of snacks would also be a
good idea.  Sodas and bottled waters are available for sale at camp.

Clothing & Attire
Long pants and a boot with a small heel is required for the riding portion of each day.
Riding helmets are mandatory and will be provided by the Seguine Equestrian Center
for your child’s use at the camp.  Children may bring a change of clothes to be worn
between riding sessions.  Since our riding sessions are outside, raingear would be
advisable for inclement weather.  Old T-shirts are advisable for the painting portion of
